Exciting full-back John Lufudu has joined Spennymoor Town ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Lufudu, 26, impressed at right back for former club Guiseley during a 2-0 victory over Moors in December 2020.

That performance alerted Tommy Miller who has secured Lufudu’s signature for the upcoming campaign.

The defender, who can also operate further forward, has previously enjoyed spells with Tadcaster Albion, Carlton Town, Sheffield FC and Ashton United.

Lufudu spoke to Moors TV to discuss his move.

He said: “I’m delighted to have signed for the club and can’t wait for the fans to come back when they can.

“My personal ambition is to progress and go higher as a player and Spennymoor match my goals and targets.

“The club wants to develop and go up and that is one of the main reasons I decided to join.

“I’m a full back but can play higher up the field if needed. I used to play striker for my local team and had a spell in midfield, so I’m flexible to play in different positions.

“I will give everything for the fans when they return.”

Tommy Miller said: “We are delighted to get Jon signed for the new season.

“He is someone I have been monitoring closely since his performance for Guiseley against us last December.

“I believe Jon’s power and pace, coupled with his ability to play anywhere down the right side, will be a huge benefit for us moving forward.

“He has already met the lads and it’s clear to me his ambitions as a player match the club’s long term progression goals.”
