Former Rotherham full-back Stephen Brogan has joined Spennymoor Town from fellow National League North side Boston United.
Brogan, 30, spent the early stages of his career at his hometown club, Rotherham, where his impressive performances saw the likes of Tottenham Hostpur take an interest.
He has featured for eight clubs since leaving The Millers in 2011, including Stalybridge Celtic, Forest Green Rovers and Gainsborough Trinity.
Brogan said: “After speaking to the gaffer who said he wanted me at the club, and seeing what the club have been doing the past few years, it was pretty straightforward from there.
“The National League North is getting better every year and there are some big clubs who are full-time in the division.
“However, I think we can more than hold our own this year and go one step better and make those play-offs.”
Moors manager Jason Ainsley said: “Stephen played against us for Boston last season and has played over 60 games for Rotherham, as well representing England C.
“He will bring us quality down the left as he has a great left foot and comes with great references from managers I respect. We look forward to see him pulling on a Spennymoor shirt.”
